How to hire safely in Florida
Look up any contractor at myfloridalicense.com before hiring. TradeTrustPro checks licenses when contractors join, but you should confirm it yourself.
Ask for a written contract listing the work, price, payment schedule, and timeline. Florida law requires certain notices in many residential contracts over $2,500, including information about the Florida Homeowners’ Construction Recovery Fund and the construction lien law.
Ask who will pull the permits. The licensed contractor should obtain them.
You are responsible for your insurance deductible. It is insurance fraud for a contractor to waive or rebate a deductible, and contractors may not offer you gifts or rebates for a roof inspection or claim.
Use the Platform’s milestone payments when available, and avoid paying large amounts up front or in cash. See the Milestone Payment Terms.
You never have to hire a contractor who contacts you. Reply STOP to stop texts, and email support@tradetrustpro.com to ask us to delete your information.
